Matthew Shields @ Sally Hershberger, West Hollywood
Matthew Shields accidentally fell in love with hair at the young age of 17 when he experienced his first bad hair-do, experimenting with a product called "Sun-in." He spent time at one of the local salons, trying to undo his hair-disaster and found his calling.
His professional career began in London and Paris where he assisted for top stylists and learned about the basic techniques of hair styling. He moved to the United States in the late 80's and began to build his portfolio and clientele list. A meeting with celebrity stylist, Sally Hershberger, became a turning point in his career as she became his mentor and introduced him to some of her celebrity clients most notably Meg Ryan and Jane Fonda. Matthew also worked extensively with the Olsen twins evolving their hair to their infamous "boho" look of their later teen years.
Matthew's celebrity clientele includes Meg Ryan, Jane Fonda, Greg Kinnear, Lisa Rinna and Ellen Degeneres to name a few. He has worked on cult classic videos such as Guns N'Roses "November Rain," and Michael Jackson's, "Black and White."
Derek Smart @ Sally Hershberger, West Hollywood
Hairstylist Derek Smart’s distinct work reflects his belief in each and every person’s potential for transformation. Creating hair that is otherwise described as “pure beauty,” Smart is known for bringing forth each client’s individual sense of style. When his older sister battled with alopecia, Smart who spent his younger years styling her wigs, found his inspiration. Pursuing his dream of becoming a hair stylist, Smart began his professional training under the teaching of notable British stylist, Stephen Wake.
The early eighties were a time of great inspiration for Derek as he saw hair as the perfect expression of the conflation of music and fashion. After seven years of apprenticing in England and working as a stylist at various high-end salons, Derek moved to California to expand his knowledge of his craft. Teddy Antolin @ Sally Hershberger, West Hollywood
Teddy Antolin went from seminary school to beauty school and never looked back. His ambition to succeed in the industry led him to open his own Beverly Hills salon in the 1970's. He owned and operated the salon for six-years then started exploring different creative opportunities in his field.
Teddy draws his inspiration from renowned stylists such as George Masters, Gene Shacove, Vidal Sassoon and Alexandre de Paris. He has worked in editorial and video shoots with famed industry pioneers such as Herb Ritts, Gus Van Sant and Steven Meisel.
Teddy's celebrity clientele include David Bowie, Iman, Jackie Collins, Geena Davis, Liza Minnelli, Lolita Davidovich, Raquel Welch, Bryan Adams, Joe Dallesandro, Sharon Stone and B.D. Wong. Teddy has also appeared on Lifetime Television Network doing a one-hour makeover series, and is designing hair for Raquel Welch Signature Collection of wigs and hair additions.
Sulekha Hilton @ Sally Hershberger, West Hollywood
Sulekha Hilton always knew she would be a colorist. As a child, she fondly remembers playing with color bottles in the bath and grew up experimenting on her friend's hair colors. When it came time for her to pick a career, there was no doubt in her mind that she needed to pursue a professional career in haircare.
Upon graduation, she went to work as an assistant at the renowned John Frieda Salon where she trained under notable colorists Jonathan Gale and Lorri Goddard-Clark. It was here where she was able to learn different color techniques, networked with a "who's who" of the Hollywood scene and build her portfolio.

Paul Perez has a love for all things with style. But, most importantly, he has demonstrated his creativity and talent for making women look and feel beautiful. Upon graduation from beauty school in Southern California 8 years ago, Perez took his inspiring and impressive talents to one the most well known salons in West Hollywood, the Sally Hershberger at John Frieda salon. It was here he honed and developed his hair cutting and styling abilities along the sides of such famed stylists like Sally Hershberger, Mark Townsend, Matthew Shields and Teddy Antolin. Those 5 years earned Perez his own name in the high-end field of fashion and beauty hair cutting and styling in Los Angeles. His success garnered the attention of other well-known stylists in the business. One of which was Byron Williams.
When Byron Williams decided to open his own up upscale salon, he asked Perez to be a member of his team as a stylist. Perez flourished with his up-do's and gorgeous styling statements. In just a couple years with Williams, Perez was again able to join up with the fabulous new Sally Hershberger salon opening in West Hollywood. Perez couldn't pass on the opportunity to style hair for the new "it" salon in LA. Perez is best known for making sure each of his clients receives glamour and elegance that are second to none.

One of the most innovative and enduring hairstylists working in the beauty business, Louise Moon’s career is still at its pinnacle after nearly 30 years.
Spanning the globe in her efforts to hone her craft, Moon quickly learned the artistry of cutting hair at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London at a very young age. Once upon a time, Lisa Oliver was a cutting-edge stylist. On any given day, you might spot Johnny Depp or Courtney Cox sitting in her chair. Mark Stephens has an innate ability to capture a client’s natural seductiveness through the use of luminous hair color at any age.
Stephens has been specializing in youthful hair color for over two decades. He believes hair color is true to you and only you, bringing back the hair color you had as a teenager, as a child, hair with bounce and glow. He prides himself on creating color that brings out his client’s inner beauty.
Salon chairs and hair care wasn’t Stephens original career path - it was the football field. However when injuries sidelined Stephens, he began looking for something that was easier on his joints (as well as his eyes) and he signed up for beauty school.
While at beauty school, Stephens caught the eye of several modeling agencies that catapulted him into the European modeling world. Corey Powell @ Sally Hershberger, West Hollywood
Los Angeles native Corey Powell began his career in the early 80s, apprenticing under Jose Eber in Beverly Hills. Twenty years later, he is one of the most sought after hair designers in Hollywood with an extensive celebrity clientele including movie stars, musicians, photographers and directors. Corey’s motto is, “Hair is sexy, and I love what you let me do with it.”
With Corey’s strong focus on creativity, he built his reputation as a genius with shears and master styling. According to LA Magazine, Corey has been known to “... [bring] the curliest heads of hair to its knees!” In the mid 90s, he began focusing on color and exploring different techniques, all while working in Paris, London and Berlin. Future
