What does it mean to be beautiful?
Is there a universal standard of beauty? That is what the American journalist Esther Konig was wondering when she decided to send her unaltered picture to 40 individuals in 25 different countries to have it retouched on Photoshop. The only thing she asked was to make her beautiful.

With her experiment, Esther Konig neutralizes the belief in a universal beauty. All these pictures are the proof that everyone can have its own idea of what it means to be beautiful.
Beauty has its importance everywhere in the world, but there are obviously different types of beauty and different ways to be beautiful. A self-confident attitude, a smile can make you more beautiful than a nice lipstick for instance.
