Going Gray, Looking Great!
Even if gray hair is usually seen as a sign of age, some people start to have gray hair at a very young age. So what?
For LSW, youth is not a prerequisite to be beautiful, neither not having white hair. We think that Beauty is a combination of “style”, “youthfulness” (not to be mistaken with youth) and “charisma”. And those notions are totally compatible with gray or white hair. So, how about appreciating your silver hair and embrace it?
George Clooney, Jaime Lee Curtis, Pierce Brosnan, Carmen Dell'Orefice, Steve Martin and Hellen Mirren are all celebrities who choose to wear their hair gray. And they look amazing with it!
Let’s have a look at Yasmina Rossi, a French-born 59-year-old model who turned gray at the age of 12 and chose to never dye her hair.
“I knew it was my best asset.” she said for More Magazine. She has modeled for Yves Saint Laurent and Eileen Fisher (among others) and performed in television commercials and ad campaigns, including Macy’s, AT&T and Marks & Spencers in Europe. “I feel more at peace than I did 10 years ago. I’ve realized that everything around me is a source of teaching. This is aging, and I enjoy it.”
Cindy Joseph a model in her sixties also decided to “celebrate her silver”.
She appeared in ads for Olay, Aveda and the fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. She claims to “Celebrate Silver" in The New York Daily News. “I call it silver instead of gray, because gray has a negative connotation. Gray mood, gray day. But silver is considered very special and very valuable. So whatever shade of silver you have, call it silver.”
