Iris Van Herpen: to another form of Fashion?

Paris Fashion Week Fall Winter 2015 just ended, we end up keeping some strong images in mind.

Iris Van Herpen’s presented collection drew its inspiration from an organic world and is somehow scientific, sending one back to the basics. Her topic Hacking Infinity is turning a planet into a viable ecosystem for human race. Even though the designer from Netherland has never been a scientist, she has always been interested in scientific facts. She has always been in relation with people from outside fashion and has the will to keep it this way as the best source of creativity.

Her creations were realized with the help of 3D printers and unusual materials like Silicon and Plexiglas, but doesn’t deny the beauty of precious traditional fabrics either.

The perception of the body in her collection changes through different apparence when wraped up in her creations.

A theme we remember from last year when models where packed up in huge transparent plastic pockets, similar to insects, trapped without oxygen.

Biospiracy Robert Clark

Her techniques may not be orthodox, still she got her slot into the official Paris Fashion Week. Is this the future of fashion?
