For 2 weeks, billion of Asians all around the world will celebrate Chinese New Year. The date of this celebration is determined by the lunar calendar. It always takes place at the beginning of the year and is also called Spring festival.
Moreover it is synonymous with the biggest human migration on Earth: for most of the Chinese population, this is the only holiday of the year and they are off work and traveling in average 8 days in a row. Family gathering is then the priority.
Besides it is the time to clean the house in depth to wash out the past and make room for the following year. On the evening of the celebration, families would eat a special dinner and stay up late, as symbol of longevity. Furthermore, family members would exchange little red envelopes with money and light some firecrackers.
The Chinese zodiac has 12 animal signs. If you go to China, you will notice that the goat is honored this year, the horse decorations may be already off.
For goats, 2015 is an important year. The best way to have good luck for goats is to wear the lucky colors (brown and red), set important meetings on days 2 and 7, and plant some primroses in the garden (goats’ lucky flowers).
To prepare for this Year’s Chinese Year celebration book an appointment with one of our LSW talented hairstylists.
